FtR Goes TMI
So Cristin sent me one of those All About You email questionnaires today. I’m not very good at responding to them, but Cristin did name me in response to question 19, so I figured I’d better give it shot. But then I faced a dilemma: do Cristin’s thing or blog?
Suddenly it hit me. Why not have my cake and eat it too?
Help yourself to a slice:
1. What time did you get up this morning? I woke up at 7:15. I got up at 7:30 when Caelyn stopped talking to herself and started complaining to me.
2. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? The cinema! So fancy! The Dark Knight on IMAX.
4. What is your favorite TV show? Right now? Ever? Jeez. I think you already know what I like. (If not, I do have an About page.)
5. What do you usually have for breakfast? There ain’t no “usually” about it. Right now, I can choose from Special K Red Berries, Grapenuts (which I never eat by themselves), Cheerios, Crispx, Healthy Harvest Cinnamon something, a whole wheat english muffin with pb, yogurt, or whole-grain/low-fat Eggos with pb. I make eggs, “McMuffins,” or breakfast burritos most Fridays.
7. What food do you dislike? Like grosses me out dislike or just rather not eat dislike? Either way, brussel sprouts are pretty nasty.
8. What is your favorite CD at the moment? Um, I’ve been listening to Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian a whole lot this month.
And Love You Just The Same by Centro-matic.
And Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!) by The Beach Boys.
And Jim by Jamie Lidell.
And Real Emotional Trash by Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks.
And, whenever I can, Wale’s new mixtape about nothing.
9. What kind of car do you drive? 2007 Honda Accord
10. Favorite sandwich? I like chicken salad a lot. BLTs are hard to beat. Meatball subs are dang good. And let’s not forget The Wreck from Potbelly Sandwich Works!
11. What characteristics do you despise? In myself or other people?
12. Favorite item of clothing? Jeans, I guess.
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? I have no idea. There are a lot of places I’d like to go.
14. Are you an organized person? Kinda. I’m good at organizing projects I care about and I’m pretty good at organizing a small space so I can cram more stuff in it. I know how to organize well, but I only do it when I really want to. I do it more as a wife than I would on my own because Chris (though he’ll deny it) can be a little OCD.
15. Where would you retire to? Home, unless I really do get to tour the country in search of the finest cupcakes!
16. What was your most recent memorable birthday? I don’t think anything momentous has ever happened on my birthday. But Chris always does a good job of making a big deal out of it. So the last one, I guess — 27.
17. What are you going to do when you finish this? It depends on whether or not Caelyn’s still sleeping.
18. Furthest place you are sending this? The Internet is MASSIVE, guys.
19. Person you expect to send it back first? Okay, so here’s where the email turned blog post thing falls apart.
20. When is your birthday? July 31
21. Morning person or a night person? Night
22. What is your shoe size? 10, sometimes 10 1/2 (I wasn’t kidding about not needing that extra half inch I gained in pregnancy.) More interesting than my shoe size is the fact that one of my feet is an entire half-size smaller than the other, making the oh-so-fashionable-right-now peep toes impossible.
23. Pets? Like do I have one or do I like ‘em? I love animals and like almost all pets, though I’m not too fond of yippee dogs with human names like Paul who try to attack you just for walking to your own car. We’ve got a Yellow Lab/Australian Shepherd, but y’all already know Maverick, right?
24. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share with us? You haven’t been reading this blog long enough. (No, I’m not having another baby yet.)
25. What did you want to be when you were little? A writer & an inn owner.
26. How are you today? Good, but a little grumpy. “Impatient” is probably more accurate.
27. What is your favorite flower? I’ve never chosen one.
28. What is a day on the calendar you are looking forward to? I don’t know. Christmas?
29. What are you listening to right now? Caelyn’s fan, but I’ve had the following on repeat today:
“Girl Don’t Tell Me” by The Beach Boys
“Me and the Bean” by Spoon
“Choking Tara” by Guided by Voices
“Quality Strange” by Centro-matic
“Heart Cooks Brain” by Modest Mouse
“I Love You So My Mexico” by The Lassie Foundation
and “For Reverend Green,” “Fireworks,” and “Winter Wonder Land” by Animal Collective.
(I wanted to give you videos for all those, but I’m running short on time.)
30. Do you wish on stars? I’m not opposed.
31. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Green? I think this is the kind of question someone else has to answer for you.
32. How is the weather right now? Not bad.
33. Last person you spoke to on the phone? Chris for grocery consultation.
34. Favorite soft drink? Dr. Pepper or Coke, but I like pretty much everything, except Big Red (Cristin!).
35. Favorite restaurant? Whichever one has the best of whatever I’m craving at the time.
36. Hair color? Brown.
37. What was your favorite toy as a child? I slept with this bear named “Teddy” tucked under my chest for long time. His face was flat from my sleeping on him, so my dad used to ask if I’d been punching him in the face and then show me what he meant by pounding on Teddy’s face until my squealing would bring Mom in to rescue poor Ted. JSmo thought this was hilarious. I liked all my stuffed animals a lot and the antique train and blocks were fun too, but mostly I played with my dogs and outside. You know, whenever I wasn’t watching The Little Mermaid, which reminds me, I swam almost all day every day for several summers in elementary school.
38. Summer or Winter? Summer for sitting outside at night and wearing flip flops. Winter for feeling cozy. What about Fall, though? Fall’s pretty awesome.
41. Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla!
42. Coffee or tea? Coffee, coffee, coffee!
43. Do you want your friends to email you back? Are we still not clear on what I’m doing here?
44. When was the last time you cried? I don’t know about full-on crying, but I teared up a few days ago.
45. What is under your bed? Books, wrapping paper, art, photo albums, candles, pottery, some other stuff.
46. What did you do last night? Went to visit Kevin & Chaille Laws’ new baby boy, Holt!
48. Salty or sweet? Salty, I guess. (Where’s 47?)
49. How many keys on your key ring? Apt, Honda, Jeep, Mailbox, Parents’ House, Sister’s House = 6.
50. How many years at your current job? 26 months.
51. Favorite day of the week? Saturday
52. Do you make friends easily? I think I’m pretty easy to get along with, but I don’t go looking for friends very often.
53. How many people will you send this too? Exactly how many people have access to the world wide web again?
54. How many will respond? This really isn’t a perfect system.
55. Do you like finding out all this stuff about your friends? Sure.

In regard to 25, WGN has started showing Newhart on Sunday Nights. Been dying to tell someone that. Thanks for the opening.
walt — See this is why people like us need blogs.
Newhart? Awesome! My parents have a bootleg set of the complete series on DVD.
lex — Your parents watch Newhart AND know about bootleg television?! I’m jealous! Do they share with you?
Well, they let me watch the DVDs when I come visit!
Love it! I’m just now catching up on your blog. Where the heck was 47? I’m not that observant! Big Red is the most fantastic of all soft drinks with the exception of Dr. Pepper. If it were at all possible, I’d have a Big Red soda fountain permanently mounted inside my frig. I’d weigh 2 billion pounds but it might be worth it!
I wish I could add you back to my blog but I’m scared! Do you think she would ever go back to my blog?
Cristin — Big Red frig rig! Ugh! You crazy! I forgot to mention that I also don’t like root beer. Gives me the shivers! But I’m thinking you don’t either, and both AB & Chris both do? Sometimes the root beer is next to the DP on the soda fountain and I swear it contaminates the DP. Not cool.
Hmm, I don’t know. She was really diggin’ that worship song you had on there when you first started it up! But I doubt she’d remember how to find it, unless you sent her another notice that you put up a new post. Of course, she really did like reading about Caroline, so maybe I shouldn’t deprive her. :)
